My Story

It all started with one little suggestion…

One of my most dear of clients told me of a new hobby she had taken up in her new retirement life. It sounded fascinating. That evening I did a bit of research and was captivated by the © ‘Fluidity’ factor in how something so random could make so many things that “look like” something else. I spent some time researching the subject, what supplies to purchase and how to get started.

It took some time and practice before “all those colors” would actually appear. Some how they would all mingle together and consistently give me paintings in different hews of olive and sage green.

But like anything else, it takes practice. My world of fluid art started under “quarantine” in 2020.

Inside the Studio

I literally live in my studio. Or should I say my studio lives in the middle of the rest of my flat.

The art studio may stay “up” for a number of weeks or months depending on what I am working on.

The whole studio actually fits upon two rolling carts.

When not in use, the entire thing rolls into the “hall closet" as I call it.

The ‘music studio’ portion of my home is currently doubling as a plant sanctuary for the patio plants to winter in.

When I’m in ‘paint mode’, my space expands in only a minute.

Ready to pour!

It can take 30 minutes or so just to mix the paints for a new color pallet, depending on the amount of colors I choose to use. And one of the secrets of success is getting the fluid consistency right.

Artist proof, needs color correction before next print.

‘Wingfeather’ is one of my favorite pieces…
