Where fluid art becomes legacy…

Fluid Art by Kim Fliegel

Featuring Fine Art Limited Edition Prints

Fluid art, also know as acryilic paint pouring or flow art, is a form of abstract art that uses acrylic paints with a runny (fluid) consistency. Layers of colored acrylic paint are poured out onto a canvas which then react with each other as the artist moves, spins or tilts the canvas. The colors combine to create organic free-flowing abstract compositions. While the paint is still fluid, I use vairous tools to create additional images in the peice. There are several techniques which I employ creating endless possibilities in which each piece is unique.

What is a Fine Art Limited Edition Print?

Each print is a work of art in itself. A limited amount of special reproductions are made and number anywhere from 50 to 250 or even 500. Each print is reproduced using the highest quality archival ink pigmentation saturating a high quality archival paper. The process is called Giclee`which reproduces accurate colors and definition ensuring that each piece of "art" is a piece worthy of legacy. It will stand the years, becoming an heirloom that can be passed on for generations without fading.

Limited editions place the art peice in the "Fine Art" category. Each print of the original piece is hand numbered, for example 1/50, meaning this is print number one out of only 50 reproductions. The print is also hand named and hand signed by the artist.

A defining factor of what makes "Fine Art," is provenance. Provenance is a record authenticating a print, its historic record and record of ownership, which maintains integrity and increases value. Each print comes with a 'Certificate of Authenticity' and a 'Bill of Sale'. The certificate of authenticity provides the assurance that once all the prints in the edition are sold, no more will be made. It also insures that the art piece will remain 'art' and will not be mundanely reproduced onto merchandise.

Most limited edition prints on the market will vary between $40 and $400 or more. This depends formost on the 'size' of the print. Further value is determined by popularity of the piece, supply availability, and the demand for it.
